Gretchen Vanderbeek, M.D.

“This is a tremendously exciting time in the field of dermatology. Scientific advances are leading to new ways to treat skin disorders as well as shedding light on how existing treatments help our patients. The most fulfilling part of my day is when I am able to help a person break out of the isolation that skin disorders can cause. I look forward to coming to clinic every day because of the relationships I have with our patients and our staff.”
Dr. Vanderbeek has been in practice with Dermatology Associates since 2012.

• Reed College, Portland: B.A.  Biology

Dr. Vanderbeek grew up in Aurora, Oregon and spent her summers bossing around her younger brothers and swimming in the river. She grows roses and tomatoes with love and enthusiasm if not expertise. She does particularly not like weeding but seems to do a lot of it. She lives in hope that someone will someday find huge medical benefits in a hot cup of black tea with milk and sugar. Someday she may become a fearless world traveler like Holly Rasmussen and Jill Gifford, an intrepid hiker like Dr. Hester, a tireless advocate for physicians like Dr. Collins and a brave organizer of activities like Scott Maury…as soon as her youngest is out of diapers

Scott Maury, PA-C

Scott Maury received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 1998 and received his Master’s degree in Physician Assistants Studies from Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago in 2002.  Scott knew from the moment he graduated PA school that dermatology was his ideal specialty to practice medicine.  Scott has 16 years of experience in dermatology working in Chicago, Saint Louis, and central rural California prior to settling here in Portland.

Scott joined Dermatology Associates in 2016.

Scott has one young daughter that keeps him on his toes most evenings and weekends with dance, gymnastics, soccer, and general kid-friendly mayhem.

Scott enjoys cooking, eating and traveling with his wife Karen.  He also enjoys golfing, baseball and college football.

Holly Rasmussen, PA-C

Holly Rasmussen received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1993 and received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago in 1997.

After practicing dermatology for 5 years in Southern California, Holly and her husband and two children decided to leave the eternal sunshine of California for the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Holly joined Dermatology Associates in 2003.

Holly’s two teenagers keep the family constantly on the go between sports, music and scouting activities. Her son just is now in college but luckily her daughter is still available for girl-time for a few more years.
Holly is a self-proclaimed travel junkie, loves reading, hiking and is hoping to hone her cooking and gardening skills in the empty-nest years to come.
